WILDWINE

Wildwine is an on-line independent shop , based in Jersey, offering unique and natural wines from organic farms in Italy. The sponsored content below is written by the owners, Kare and Marcello

The wines are sourced from carefully selected farms who use sustainable production methods and native grape varieties, resulting in completely natural wines which are certified organic or biodynamic and without additives and winemaking intervention. This is only possible thanks to the passion, care and expert skills of the winemakers.

Wildwine is about the enjoyment of drinking quality wine without having to deal with side effects that conventional wine can cause during and after drinking. These effects can be down to the industrial winemaking processes and the use of chemicals throughout the whole production, in particular the addition of high levels of sulphites (SO2).

With our combined Jersey and Italian heritage this created the perfect opportunity to introduce these exciting wines to the Island. Marcello’s background as a professional chef, knowledge of natural wines and sensory skills has enabled us to select the highest quality and best tasting wines.

In fact we are the only wine shop in the UK to offer only sulphite free natural wine.

Why opt for a natural wine?

The range of aromas, flavours and colours is far beyond the limitations of conventional wines. It is a world of sensory and chromatic explosions, with golden shades from antique pale pink to orange and intense cerise to rich burgundy, with an unexpected range of floral and fruity, herbal, nutty and woody aromas.

Undoubtedly the healthier option, this is thanks to a higher concentration of natural antioxidants, polyphenols and vitamins preserved from the initial grape juice.

Some of our wild wines use biodynamic production methods which follow a working plan in accordance with the moon calendar, treating the earth as ‘a living and receptive organism’. The end result is an energetically enhanced, cleaner and natural tasting wine.
