Show report by Kennel Club chairman Helen Lester
The Kennel Club of Jersey held their first Show since February 2020 due to Covid restrictions on Saturday 25 September at Trinity Showground.
The Show was their very prestigious Summer Championship Show, with competitors travelling from Guernsey and the UK to attend. The Judges flew in from the UK for this Crufts qualifying Show, with an after-show dinner held locally to celebrate some great local results.
The Show was very well attended with great quality across the seven groups.
Top honours and Best in Show went Chrissy Le Moignan with her Tibetan Terrier
Waterley Moneypenny, handled by her daughter Paige.
Reserve Best in Show was awarded to a Saluki Ir Ch Ulmarra Naa (Jun.ch Jd) (Imp Ire)
owned by Stuart and Pamela Mottershaw and Fiona Officer.
Best Puppy in Show was awarded to Sara Hart-Bricknell on her first ever Show with her
Australian Shepherd Jazdaze Dazzling Star.
Reserve Best Puppy went to Peter Walker with his Lhasa Apso Petwalk Infatuation
There were fantastic wins in many classes for local dogs, some who had never been in
the Show ring due to the pandemic with many qualifying for Crufts.
Club President Christine Marett commented that everyone was pleased to be back
showing, with a great atmosphere at the event all day.
The next Championship show is being held on Saturday 13 November at the Royal Showground, Trinity
Showground.
