A Jersey equivalent to the famous annual ‘Horse the Year Show’ is due to take place this October at Home Farm Equestrian Centre, Rue ès Abbes, St John.
The organisers, who have just published a brochure for the show, state: ‘the show will provide an opportunity for those who have a love and passion for the horse, for riding and each of its associated disciplines to showcase the best of Jersey equestrianism.
The Jersey Horse of the Year Show (JHOYS) is aimed at providing an end-of-season event that showcases the best of the best of the Island’s equestrian community. Local equestrians working alongside other clubs in the Island will have several opportunities to qualify for this championship show.
JHOYS 2022 will run over five days, split over two weekends and will include Showing, Dressage, Working Hunter and Show Jumping. Over the weekend, JHOYS will have over 50 classes and approximately 500 competitors across the event. In addition, the viewing gallery, spectator shopping village and equine zone at the show will have something for everyone.
The organisers say members pf JFE have been enthusiastic right from the very beginning and are all excited for Home Farm’s future and the events they intend to bring to the Island.
The organisers are seeking sponsorship, either for the whole show or for individual classes. For further sponsorship details, contact Emily Bell, sponsorship organiser, on 0779 7824676, or e-mail sponsor@jhoys.co.uk.
The sponsorship brochure can be viewed on RURAL website’s ‘JHOYS’ section.
