The Jersey Bat Group (JBG) is a registered Jersey charity with these aims: to survey and monitor bat populations, roosts, hibernacula and foraging sites in Jersey; to provide information and education regarding bats to its members and the Jersey public; and, where possible, to take steps to help protect local bat populations.
JBG are seeking a new Chairperson to lead the group. He or she will be responsible for ensuring that the Committee functions effectively, that there is full participation during committee and members meetings, that all relevant matters are discussed and that effective decisions are made and carried out. Between meetings the Chairperson will need to keep in touch with others and see how the things that they have committed to do are progressing. The Chairperson may from time to time need to represent the group, or find the most suitable representative from the group as a whole, depending on what is required (e.g. introducing a speaker at an event or talking about the work and objectives of the group).
If you would like to put your name forward for this position, or would like to know more about the group before deciding, please email enquires@jerseybatgroup.org
