STRIKE THE PAWS

Enter your canine friend for a photography competition… canine photographer Kasia Guzik explains:

For years, my photography has been dedicated to capturing confidence and personality, specializing in fashion and business headshots. However, last December, my life took an unexpected and heartwarming turn—I became a dog owner.

Welcoming my adorable Cavapoo, Poppy, into my life changed everything. She brought immense joy and inspiration, leading me toward an entirely new creative journey— photographing dogs. This passion has now evolved into an exciting and ambitious project: my very first dog photography exhibition, Strike the Paws.

Photography, at its core, is about storytelling, and what better subjects than our beloved four-legged companions? Dogs exude personality, love, and boundless energy, and my goal is to capture them in their most natural state—whether in motion, at play, or simply being themselves. I have chosen black-and-white photography to highlight the raw, timeless beauty of each dog. While I naturally gravitate toward action shots in outdoor settings, I also take into account each dog’s unique habits and their owner’s preferences, ensuring that every image is a true reflection of their character.

This exhibition is more than just a collection of photographs; it’s a celebration of community, passion, and the deep bond we share with our pets. I’m incredibly grateful for the support of local businesses that have helped make this event a reality. The Insurance Emporium has generously sponsored the exhibition, while five fantastic businesses— MyDogify, Fabulous Boutique, Jaipur Restaurant, Serendipity Salon, and Pretty Okay Candles—have donated amazing raffle prizes to make the evening even more special.

Strike the Paws will be held on Thursday, 19th June, at the Harbour Gallery from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Admission is free, and attendees can enjoy a stunning display of dog portraits, vote for their favourite pup, and even purchase prints of their own furry friends. Adding to the excitement, a competition will be held where the winning dog will receive a full professional photoshoot. Thanks to our generous sponsors, guests will also have the chance to win fantastic raffle prizes, making the event even more engaging.

This isn’t just an exhibition—it’s a heartfelt tribute to the incredible bond between humans and their dogs. Whether you’re a dog owner, a photography enthusiast, or simply a dog lover, this is an event you won’t want to miss.

If you’d like your dog to be part of this special showcase, I’ll be photographing throughout
April and May, but availability is limited. The earlier you book, the greater the chance of your
pup being featured in the exhibition.
