Royal progress update

An update on the planting season from William Church, sales and marketing director at the Jersey Royal Company:
‘Planting has come to a standstill this week as we have been under a deluge of rain with over 1 ½ inches having fallen since Sunday.
The ground is currently sodden and will need a couple of fine days to dry out before work can recommence.
There is still a little bit of standing seed that has been going on, but inevitably there have also some staff who are left with nothing to do.
Before this week, progress had been fair with a greater area planted than at the corresponding date last year.
All eyes are on the weather forecast and looking for brighter times!’
