GENUINE JERSEY MARKETS HAVE RESUMED

A sunny day for a Genuine Jersey market last year. Chief executive of Genuine Jersey John Garton is second on the left, and is accompanied by the team from sponsors Mason Breese. A sponsor this month is B Corp Month, aiming to shine a light on their efforts as they contribute towards their local communities, their people, their clients, and the environment

Genuine Jersey’s Artisan Markets, sponsored by local businesses Hepburns and MasonBreese, returned to St Aubin on on Saturday 29 March, offering visitors and locals the opportunity to buy a variety of local crafts and produce directly from the makers.

Genuine Jersey Chief Executive John Garton said: ‘Our markets are always a highlight in our calendar, and this year is no exception. I’m particularly delighted that we’ve, thanks to the support of our sponsors, been able to bring forward the start date of the markets with the first few being held solely inside St Brelade’s Parish Hall. From May they’ll switch to being both inside and outside the Parish Hall and then run into the Autumn.

‘One of the reasons we love our markets is how they bring our Members together, offering them the opportunity to share their new products and speak to others in the community. They also offer residents and visitors the chance to meet the makers behind the products they’re buying, learning about their processes and what it takes to make what they’re buying.’

Visitors to the market will be able to browse the stalls of local produce, buy fresh local fish and seafood from Jade-S Fisheries and enjoy music being played by a variety of local musicians. The markets will be held throughout the Spring and Summer in St Aubin.
