There will be fun for everyone at the Royal Jersey Agricultural and Horticultural Society’s Country Summer Fair at Trinity’s Royal Jersey Showground in June.
Children will be able to scramble over hay bales, jump on the bouncy castle, try out the mini tractors and take part in a scavenger hunt to receive free ice cream tokens as part of an enjoyable day out for all the family.
The gates open at 10.30am on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June with the Society’s Early Summer Flower Show providing beautiful displays of pot plants, cut flowers, fruit, vegetables, cakes, flower arranging, art and photos. There will also be a selection of plants for sale.
The Spring Cattle Show will take place with the ‘In Milk’ classes on the Saturday and the youngstock on the Sunday. Visitors can find out more about the dairy industry at ‘Discover Dairy’ where they can ask questions about dairy farming and the Island’s cows as well as dairy produce while children tackle a variety of craft activities.
Beresford Street Kitchen will be serving food and there will be lots of local craft and trade stands plus displays and entertainment.
A cake auction will be held at 3.30pm on the Sunday, with the proceeds going to the JSPCA Animals’ Shelter, followed by the prize giving at about 4.15pm.
Admission is £5 for adults, £3 for seniors aged 60 and over with free entry for RJ&HS members and children under 16.
