Friday 30 September – Sunday 2 October – Corn Riots Festival
The three-day Corn Riots Harvest Festival, also known as La Folle d’Avoût, is taking place this weekend to mark the anniversary of the major legislative reform that transformed society in Jersey, as a result of the Corn Riots. Enjoy cheese, sausages and other delicacies at the Norman Market; take part in workshops and Jèrriais language classes; and listen to performances from local bands and the Jersey Story Beast. Thursday 6 October – Saturday 8 October – Black Butter Making & Market Day
Embrace the community spirit and participate in the ancient art of making black butter with the National Trust at The Elms. Peeling commences on Thursday 6 October at 2pm and volunteers can enjoy a cup of tea, piece of cake or Jersey wonder as they work. Market Day takes place on Saturday 8 October with food stalls selling cider and sausages, wood-fired pizza, tea and cakes and other delicacies.

Saturday 15 October – Sunday 16 October – Cider Making at Hamptonne
Support Jersey Heritage’s cider-making volunteers at Hamptonne as they work in the traditional way with horsepower, to bring to life Jersey’s rich heritage of cider production. As well as cider, there will be live music, entertainers, creative activities, dance and various artisan sellers.

Thursday 27 October & Friday 28 October – Spooky Bat-Spotting Saunter
Children aged 5–11 are invited to join the Jersey Bat Group for a spooky Halloween walk through St Peters Valley woods to learn about the Island’s local bat species. The evening will begin just before dusk in the biodiversity exhibition in the attic of Quétivel Mill, before walking along a jack-o’-lantern-lined woodland path to look for bats.

Sunday 30 October – Halloween Scavenger Hunt
Jersey Trees for Life is hosting its annual Halloween adventure in the secret Adelina Woods. Children can search for pumpkins using clues from a Halloween-themed map and decode a hidden message to win a bag full of treats. There is a morning session and aftersnoon session, with all proceeds going to the charity.
